this dove hit my windows and when I was about to take a picture of it, it flew away to our neighbor’s roof.

this dove hit my windows and when I was about to take a picture of it, it flew away to our neighbor’s roof.

It all started when I didn’t listen to my mom. She had been advising me not to go to school because it was raining really hard. but then, i didn’t want to miss out anything in my class so i still went to school. I left around 9:30am. When my mother called the security office of SSC they said that there was no announcement of class suspensions. I arrived just in time for my 10:30 class and the guard said that classes beyond 12:00 pm were already suspended. fuck you. it wasn’t raining that hard and the streets in the area of Vito Cruz was still clear and safe so I still went to class.
around 11:00 am the school field was already brimming over with rain water and it was already reaching the social hall, deans’ offices, and the SAO so the professors were advised to dismiss classes. Some friends and I decided to cross Vito Cruz already and wait for a bus in front of Torre Lorenzo. Leon Guinto was insanely flooded and I never imagined something like this would happen in Vito Cruz. We paid php50 for the pedicab only to see that Taft Ave. was already flooded and there were no southbound buses!
Because we were optimistic we just waited outside Starbucks for a bus, watched the strong wind destroying the city inch by inch, exposed to heavy drops of rain, and seen the people suffering their way out of the flooded streets in Manila.
A bus came and we actually walked in a flood that was above our knee level kind of flood. It was a 4 hour ride to coastal. We were starving and in need of food. When a vendor came in, we bought fish crackers. that was around 4 in the afternoon and our last meal was breakfast. we didn’t have drinks.
It was 5:00 pm when we decided to get out of the bus and walk our way to LP. As we reached the end of the expressway and the left turn where LP bound cars pass, we noticed that there was no traffic. The cars were stranded because they couldn’t drive through the knee high flood and it was even increasing in height as we moved towards Pamplona. We were so fuckin scared to push through with the plans of walking home because it was so dark and the water was violent. lucky us, my friend’s parents came to help us 8 to cross the flood.
it was fckn scary, i tell you. this was nothing compared to trekking in Aklan, Dumaguete, and Banahaw. hay.
We came home and some of our neighbors were here to spend their nights since their homes were sabotaged by Ondoy. hay what a fckn day.
